Fantastic experience: Martyn and the team are excellent at what they do and extremely professional. After a short consultation Martyn understood my issues and created an exercise plan to begin resolving them. This is constantly updated and reviewed at each meeting. I am noting continued improvement and less pain and I am hopeful this course of treatment will avoid the necessity of surgery. I can't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working with Martyn Glover at Hands That Heal during my rehab following a high tibial osteotomy, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the support I’ve received. From the very beginning, Martyn has been fantastic, he really takes the time to listen and understand how I’m progressing, adjusting my rehab programme to suit my needs at each stage. The exercises he provides are broken down into manageable, bite-sized chunks, which has made a huge difference in keeping me consistent and on track. His approach is both professional and encouraging, and it’s clear he genuinely cares about getting the best outcome for his patients. I would highly recommend Martyn to anyone needing physiotherapy, especially for post-surgical rehabilitation.

Fantastic experience: Cannot say enough about the treatment I have received since going to hands that heal. After only 4 sessions my body already feels different and much. Each session is aimed at working on the areas where most of the pain is felt. A programme of exercises after each session is given aimed again at targeting where most pain is felt. It's refreshing to,after a number of years feel not pain free,as yet but more comfortable not having thae pain i did only a few weeks ago.

Fantastic experience: After 3 months of hip pain that was limiting my walking and driving, I went for physio. Martyn diagnosed gluteal tendinopathy and started me off on exercises. Within 2 weeks I was pain-free, and after that further graduated strength building exercises have brought further benefit. I am now back to my normal active self again! Great job Martyn.

Fantastic experience: Having had two frozen shoulders within the last 2 years, I decided to contact hands that heal following cortisone injections on the NHS. The staff at Hands That Heal are very welcoming. A detailed history was taken and a treatment plan agreed with exercises that did not cause me pain. I have had a series of sports massages on my upper arm, shoulder and upper back. Within a period of approximately 10 weeks, the improvement in movement and reduction in pain has been brilliant. I would highly recommend the clinic

Fantastic experience: I attended Hands that Heel after suffering a shoulder injury. A long process of rehab, 4 months. Martyn was great at explaining the injury and the rehab required. The routine really worked, i stuck to it and Martyn continually increased the exercises and set new targets. 4 months in my shoulder feels better than its done for a long time and I'm starting to reach my exercise goals again and can't thank Martyn enough for working with me on it and helping get me through it.

Next day could feel the effects of the massage but not uncomfortable. Day after all sharp pains gone and virtually none of the massage effects evident. Feel 100% better. Fantastic experience: I first visited Hands That Heal 18 months ago with a problem in my left shoulder. After a short diagnosis Martyn gave me some simple exercises and within a few weeks the pain had gone. I went again today with a pain in my other shoulder and have complete trust that Martyn can put it right

Fantastic experience: With a little over a month before I was scheduled to lead birding trips which require my hiking through lush Caribbean forests and up mountains, I badly damaged my knee whilst exercising. Fortunately I got an appointment with Paige Farrell at Hands that Heal. From the first appointment to the last she was amazing! She assessed the damage that I'd done to my knee and designed an incredible rehab and physio routine that had me back to normal in 3.5 weeks. I cannot thank her and Hands that Heal enough. Fantastic experience: I had recurring hip pain when running that was causing real issues and restricting my ability to progress and run longer distances. I decided to see if I could get help for my pain and was referred to Hands that Heal through my PMI. Hannah's knowledge was amazing, giving me a thorough assessment in our first session to diagnose what could be causing my pain. I was given a programme of stretches and strength exercises to build up the strength in and around my hips and I had noticeable improvement within the first few weeks and after a couple of months of sessions I'm now running further and faster than before and with no pain at all! Fantastic experience: I didn't realise I had an issue until my daughter put sun cream on my back and noticed the swelling. I made an appointment at hands that heal in Pocklington and Hannah, physio, diagnosed the issues and the cause of the pain. It is a lovely place, warm and friendly staff. I have been so much better since attending weekly. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have seen Paige twice now. The first time I was in so much pain it hurt to walk, sit down, get in the car, turn over in bed. I didn’t have the ability to lean forwards much , I was in absolute agony. I had lifted a weight and hurt my back. Paige is very professional, full consultation and details were taken initially and updated again today. I have much better range of movement and the pain is much much less. When she gets her elbow in your bum cheeks boy does it hurt but you feel much better after. Great service, lovely welcome, highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Went for my first assessment with Martyn, I was worried at what to expect but I shouldn’t have been. (The receptionist, Jenny was very welcoming and polite too). My initial assessment was very thorough and the questions also. I also did some exercises to find out the problem that was causing the pain and Martyn solved it. Leaving the premises I felt confident that I would be able to get back to my normal activities soon.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been struggling with the effects of an old injury for over 4 years. I’ve seen other sports therapists before but never really got to the bottom of it. I’m only 5 weeks in and I really feel like we are getting somewhere already! Hands That Heal do just what their name says and they are a really friendly and welcoming place to come and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them at all.

Fantastic experience: First session. Very detailed check on my health/injury history. Thorough examination of my leg (both legs but only one to be treated at present, until injury to other fully healed. Given 6 exercises, all fully explained and purpose outlined. Overall air of professionalism and competence.

Fantastic experience: Having borne the pain of a trapped sciatic nerve for some weeks, I was desperate for some help and Hands that Heal were marvellous. Their treatment was caring, reassuring, and thoroughly professional. With Martyn's help and teaching, I am now moving normally and pain-free again. Fantastic experience: After having an operation on my knee in 2020 after a football imjury, then having an occurance of swelling and uncomfort when ever I did any physical activities I decided to go through physio to see if they could help. Martyn was my physio since early July and when he told me he could have me playing football again, I went away doubting it... after a long 4 months and continuous visits with Martyn I have started playing again with no discomforts or any issue. Fantastic experience: Early last year I was having trouble running more than 5 miles due to recurring muscle tightness and discomfort on every run. Lisa and her team at Hands That Heal are truly exceptional. They were able to resolve the issue with exercises to address strength and balance. I then embarked on marathon training for five months, coached by Martyn, who is a mine of information for all things running (you can pick any running related topic and Martyn will have read a paper on it and be able recite the conclusions!) After gradually building strength and endurance, I ran my first marathon 30 minutes faster than expected. I am fitter, faster and running further than ever before. Fantastic experience: I have been a serving Royal Marine for 13 years, the physical stress and strain of my work caused range of injuries has made training and my job increasingly hard for the years. In May I had an incredibly arduous course to pass and at the time I was suffering from back pain and unable to run pain free. Lisa sourced the cause of the problem in one session; something months of physio therapy through the MOD had failed to identify. Within only a few weeks prior to the course starting she had me up and running pain free and therefore able to complete my course. I can't thank Lisa enough she is a true miracle worker.
