Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Cathedral Osteopaths Ripon. In 2025 I was suffering from bad back pain which made daily live painful, including taking a while to get moving in the mornings. I was recommended IDD and after a consultation I decided to move ahead. The results were great and my back is so much better now. Josh has done most of my sessions and is very friendly. I very much recommend Cathedral Osteopaths.

Fantastic experience: I saw a Facebook advert from Cathedral which mentioned shockwave therapy. I had suffered from plantar fasciitis for the last 5 years since Covid and it was getting progressively worse. I previously booked a private hospital appointment and the doctor told me there was very little he could do because unless it is caught within the first year, there was not much success with treatment. I was hobbling around, unable to exercise like I had previously and dreaded how I would feel the next day if I walked for any length of time. When I saw the advert, I decided to give it a go. I have just completed my second round of 4 sessions of shockwave and am amazed and delighted with the difference it has made. After my first course of 4 treatments, it did not actually feel that much different. However you have to take a break for 6 weeks and I was amazed after 6 weeks at just how much better I felt. I have returned for 4 more sessions and am now about to go on a break for 6 weeks again but I am absolutely delighted with how much better I am feeling. Josh mentioned that the main issue was not actually plantar fasciitis in my left foot, but actually achilles tendonitis which was my main problem. Josh has been absolutely fantastic, giving me essential exercises to do alongside my treatment. I can not stress enough how life changing this treatment has been for me and we were even discussing the possibility of me maybe trying the Couch to 5K in a bit - which is something I never thought I would have been able to do again.

Fantastic experience: I have recently completed shock wave treatment with Josh and Ellie at Cathedral Osteopaths for a very severe pain in my heel, which affected my walking and daily activities. The treatment went really well and, although not completely cured, it has made an amazing difference. Josh and Ellie are both lovely, very professional and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: I injured my right forearm around November 2025 resulting in a Tennis elbow.The resulting pain was preventing me from carrying out a high percentage of all the activities I enjoy. Gardening became impossible and exercise classes made things worse, along with every activity I needed to do on a daily basis. Constant pain affected my sleep and my mental health. I tried to manage it myself to no avail. I booked an appointment at Cathedral Osteopaths in April this year and had my 1st appointment with Josh, Sports therapist. Following a full assessment he explained the options for ongoing treatment. These included acupuncture and manual therapy, both of which proved to be very effective. Following each session with Josh, he gave me an individual exercise program to carry out at home. These proved to be essential for my ongoing recovery!! Over 3 months, combining my home exercises with my regular treatment sessions with Josh, I am pretty much back to pre injury status which I never thought would happen. I cannot recommend Josh highly enough for helping me to get my life back to normal. I am now able to do everything I could do prior to my elbow injury and am now pain free. Thank you Josh!

Fantastic experience: I can't recommend Josh highly enough. I first visited him with severe plantar fasciitis that had become so painful I was literally crawling when I got out of bed in the mornings. Josh treated me with shockwave therapy and guided me through a tailored rehabilitation programme. Throughout the process, he was patient, understanding, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me stay on track to achieve the results I was hoping for. The improvement has been amazing. My pain has reduced dramatically, and I'm now back playing football again—something I honestly wasn't sure would be possible when I first started treatment. Fantastic experience: I have been using Josh regularly for a couple of years - I started when he first came as a trainee and then stayed with him after completing his courses. He is a lovely young guy who makes you feel relaxed and safe. His treatments for my back problems are fantastic and he coordinates my appointment to my request. I go twice a month at the moment and I’m really impressed with his treatment plans and pressure point treatments during my deep tissue massage sessions! He works on my lower back pain and also the knots in my upper back and shoulders too .I leave feeling much happier and definitely in a lot less pain than before. If he feels my hip is back out of place again he regularly checks this and then I order a different type of appointment with Vanessa. Would % recommend Josh and his sports massage therapist. You will leave in ALOT less pain and much happier walking in less discomfort and pain xx

Fantastic experience: I found Cathedral Osteopaths online whilst searching for a solution for chronic Plantar Fasciitis and excruciating pain as nothing was working. Josh Laslett confirmed I had Mortons Neuroma and recommended an x-ray (via my GP) of my left heel, which confirmed a heel spur. Josh recommended shock wave therapy for four weeks and exercises to do every day. The shock wave therapy significantly reduced the pain. A long term plan also included deep tissue massage, acupuncture and Josh also recommended a specific type of collagen which has also helped. I am now pain free. I would recommend Cathedral Osteopaths. Josh is empathetic and highly skilled at what he does. Thank-you Josh, for helping me get my life back.

Fantastic experience: I was very sceptical at first, but I honestly couldn’t be happier with the results. I suffered a herniated disc around 2.5 years ago and the recovery took over 12 months. This time, I decided to try IDD Therapy at Cathedral Osteopaths in Ripon, and it has made such a huge difference. My recovery has been so much quicker — around 2 months — and I am now back to about 95% health. Vanessa, Josh and Eleanor have all been absolutely amazing throughout. Fantastic experience: I started visiting Josh Laslett at the end of last year having suffered with tennis elbow for 18 months. I was in a lot of pain and struggling to hold and grip everyday items and had given up playing padel tennis due to the pain. I hadn’t realised the extent of my restricted movement until the initial examination. Josh initially started with a course of shockwave therapy followed by acupuncture, sports massage, and spinal manipulation. He examined it and gave me a plan on what he could do for me. I had a course planned out for treatment over 5 weeks. I went to Vanessa after the back specialist/surgeon told me I’d need spinal injections & going forward some surgery because of bulging discs. I was in constant pain. Vanessa looked at my scan & said she thought she could help me with the pain. So after having sessions 2/3 weeks apart she absolutely did. I was out of pain. I have just been back as I started feeling some pain again but I had not been for 6 months. Vanessa works wonders & I would 100% recommend her. Fantastic experience: I have been suffering from chronic neck pain and radiated headaches for over 18 months. Cathedral Osteopaths were recommended to me for IDD Therapy which has been surprisingly effective in treating both conditions. Fantastic experience: I cannot put into words the effectiveness of the shock therapy for my stubborn debilitating plantar fasciitis. Over the course of two rounds of treatment, my pain has dropped significantly and has transformed my life. My only regret i that I didn't take the treatment sooner! Fantastic experience: Since February this year, I started suffering from severe sciatica nerve pain, which kept getting worse. Despite regularly reporting this to the NHS and asking for support with pain relief, I felt like I was getting nowhere. I decided to seek private treatment and tried different options such as acupuncture and chiropractic care, but they didn’t work for me, the pain was still there. Finally, I saw the display for Ripon Osteopath and made the step to call. Jane kindly accommodated me with an appointment to see Vanessa first, who immediately suggested getting an MRI before recommending any treatment. By this time, I was in my 8th week of pain, struggling with work and a completely changed lifestyle, as I could no longer manage my pain through exercise. Around then, I finally saw an NHS physio who referred me for an MRI. Within a month, I had the scan and learnt I had not one but two damaged discs: one herniated and one bulging. For the bulging disc, Vanessa prescribed DII treatment (12–24 sessions). After 12 sessions, my pain dropped from 7–8 to about 3, and I started feeling much better. The customised treatment, combined with physiotherapy exercises, was very effective and helped me recover significantly. Although I don’t think I’ll ever get back to running, I’ve been able to slowly reintroduce activities like hiking and Pilates. I would absolutely recommend the clinic. Vanessa, Josh, Eleonore, and Jane all make you feel cared for and confident in their practice. It’s also worth mentioning that I received conflicting advice from the NHS physio and the clinic. I ultimately chose to trust the clinic, as previous NHS recommendations had actually worsened my condition. Sadly, not everyone can afford private care, but if you are suffering from pain, Ripon Osteopath is the place to go. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Ive attended Cathedral Osteopaths for IDD treatment with Josh for a degenerative disc condition which was incredibly successful and so when I damaged my shoulder through over enthusiastic tree lopping I didnt think twice about booking with him for this. Over time and a mixture of treatments ( soft tissue massage and dry needling ) as well as a series of graded exercises Im very pleased to say things are significantly better.Josh has a lovely manner and is very knowledgeable so one has total confidence in him. Fantastic experience: Cathederal Osteopaths were the light at the end of my tunnel having suffered from 2 herniated discs and having gone full circle from the normal pain relef, and physio nothing had worked. I am currently employed in the Ambulance Service a physical and heavy lifting job ! What could i do ? I reached out to Vanessa and her excellent staff. This was the best thing i could have done. Vanessa was the only person to have exlained my MRI in detail. It was explained to me in detail what the treatment /therapy would involve and it was all go from there. All of the staff were excellent, curteous and proffessional. Fantastic experience: I'm 70 and having suffered from worsening chronic back pain for 3 years and having had to give up golf I visited several top consultants who said it was a combination of degenrative dic disease and facet joint arthritis. I tried physios, chiropracters and other Osteopaths but none of them helped. I saw four different consultant surgeons but all they could offer me was strong pain killers or surgery. Then I read about IDD therapy and went to see Vanessa who, as an osteopath, is in a class of her own. She looked at my MRI and told me I was suitable for treatment. I was very aprehensive but after the first session I felt something had changed and it gave me the confidence to continue. Now after 24 sessions it's like a mircacle I don't need any pain killers, my flexibiity is back to normal and I'm hopeful of taking up golf again. Vanessa and her team have been a God send to me and I cannot thank them enough.

Fantastic experience: Both Ellie and Vanessa have helped me figure out and find ways to manage my longstanding neck and back pain. Together, they’ve given me hope that there are solutions to my joint/muscle problems - there isn’t a magic cure, (it is down to me to follow their advice outside the therapy room), but I really appreciate their pragmatic approach and great listening skills. I had a six week course of treatment with Eleanor Schofield, and left with a spring in my step, pain-free, and very happy. He diagnosed my problem during the first consultation, I booked the six session Osteopathic Treatment Programme and it was the best decision of 2020. Fantastic experience: I used Cathedral Osteopaths in Ripon to help with back pain caused by a car accident a few years ago. Can't recommend her enough and would recommend her highly to anyone suffering back pain.

Fantastic experience: I would whole-heartedly recommend Vanessa if you have aches and pains! When I had my first consultation and treatment for a back injury, I could barely move and was in constant pain. The osteo sessions really were a life line and enabled me to keep moving and stay at work. Vanessa has used a range of approaches from manipulation to cranial massage and I have genuinely enjoyed the sessions for both the pain relief and Vanessa's sense of humour. The real proof of success of course is that after a course of treatment, I didn't need to go back - although it's useful to book in every few months to ensure everything is still lined up! Best of all, if she cannot treat you, she will tell you and if she doesn't need to see you so regularly she will let you know. I had previously tried other approaches - this is the only one that worked and that I would recommend.
