Fantastic experience: I had a hip replacement in January 2025 and looked for support after my operation towards rehabilitation and recovery outside of what the NHS can offer. I found Richard at Bolton to be knowledgeable around my condition and provided support via a plan that met my changing needs and helped to speed my healing and recovery back to full mobility and strength. He provided regular exercises that could fit around my work and lifestyle and improved my confidence post-operation. I don’t think I’d be as active now as I am without this support and phased increase in stretching and strengthening that has brought me back to near 100%.

Fantastic experience: Following a road traffic accident, I visited Active Physiotherapy due to impact trauma to various parts of my body. Richard worked with me for several months, developing a programme of exercises to help my recovery, and also providing massage treatment for soft tissue damage. He was professional yet compassionate, and communicated clearly with me through all my visits. I am so grateful for his expertise and care - he has without a doubt expedited my recovery. I wouldn't hesitate to use Active Physiotherapy again, should I ever need treatment.

Fantastic experience: I received treatment at the Bolton Clinic for sciatica. Treatment comprised of extensive massage to the affected areas over a course of appointments together with a programme of exercises. Fantastic experience: I’ve always had my problems with my back, but Richard at the Bolton gym gave me great care and a really comprehensive rehabilitation programme. I stuck to the rehab regime and after three months of rehab I’m pain free. And I was assured that if I build the exercises into my gym routine I would remain pain free. Nice guy and a great service.

Fantastic experience: Extremely satisfied with the treatment I received to recover from my knee injury/surgery (meniscus tear) that happened because of badminton. Stelios is one of the best physiotherapists I have come across, highly recommend! He was always honest about the time it'll take to recover and motivated me to push the right amount to improve week on week. We started off slow and gradually included weight training, plyometrics and mobility training so I can go back to playing the sport I love. Doing the exercises will be a lifelong journey but I am so grateful to have found this place!

Fantastic experience: I went to Richard on referral due to a neurological disorder with my legs. By the time I got to Richard, I could not walk unaided and going up and downstairs was tough. Following approximately 12 weeks, Richard had built up my beliefe and confidence and, basically, taught me to walk again. I highly recommend Richard. Fantastic experience: I've had two situations where I've used Active Bolton, my back and my wrist (running injury and a fall). The first time was for my back, I hobbled in, Richard worked his magic and I skipped out, only took a few sessions to sort out and it's still good months later. I didn't hesitate in revisiting when I needed someone to help with my sprained wrist, went to the pharmacy first and wanted to avoid giving more work to our NHS colleagues, once again, a couple of sessions and confirmation that there was no long term damage. I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Richard. I've been seeing him on and off for years after a back injury in 2018, then car accident in 2019. He is fantastic and helped me recover, I am now not needing pain medication when previously I was on (at times) 3 different prescription pain meds to try and get through the day. After having regular treatment I am able to train back at the gym doing exercises such as deadlifts, squats and leg press. I have recommended him to several friends and family for multiple different issues from migraines from muscle tension to general muscle aches/pains. I still see him once every 2-4 months for a bit of a general physio check up on previously injured areas. Also Judith who works on reception is absolutely lovely. Whilst waiting for treatment she makes you feel at ease. She is warm and welcoming, with always a smile on her face. If you are considering physio, these are the guys to see.
