He is warm and welcoming, he understands the problem and is able to communicate his extensive knowledge in simple terms and solve the problem. I recently went to see him with tendonitis in my ankle which I had been suffering with for some months and which improved substantially after a few visits to Ian.

Fantastic experience: I returned to the Physio Room over the last three months to get help with chronic knee pain I had been experiencing for some time when running, and finally decided to do something about it. I found Ian really helpful and understanding of my issues. He reviewed my progress regularly throughout the treatment and made sure I was doing my stretches correctly. He also gave great advice on aftercare and recommended the correct type of knee brace I needed, taking the time to ensure I was using it properly. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: Ian and his team were absolutely fantastic! I had peroneal tendonitis and ATF injury. Ian was very quick with identifying the issue and put my on my program to recovery. I have now fully recovered and back to running. All thanks to Ian and The Physio room. As I like running and aiming to do a few marathons this year. Fantastic experience: I went to see Ian following a period of 3 months of pain in my left elbow. He diagnosed tennis elbow and began treatment. Just over 2 months and I am now pain free and slowly getting back to normal activities. Ian gave me great advice for when I was at home so as to avoid aggravating it again. Fantastic experience: I had a ruptured quad tendon which required surgery to repair. Ian oversaw the lengthy rehabilitation phase which involved restoring flexion and strength. Ian provided me with an excellent service and was highly supportive over a difficult period. He has a calm and professional manner and vast experience. You are in good hands.

Fantastic experience: I hurt my knee in December. After having an Xray at the end of February that identified mild osteoarthritis, the doctor said no further action required. I contacted The Physio Room and Ian suggested that I had torn cartilage and advised against continuing the exercises for osteoarthritis and concentrate on using a resistant band and weekly ultrasound treatment. My knee is much better and I would highly recommend The Physio Room and will use Ian for any future physio needs.

Fantastic experience: I have used Ian at The Physio Room for a variety of issues over a number of years. He has always been helpful, responsive and realistic as to what is achievable and by when. It’s amazing how, if you follow the advice you’ve paid for, you get better.

Fantastic experience: Ian has decades of experience and it shows. I trust what he diagnoses, he packs a lot into an appointment, and I have used him over several years for a series of mostly sports injuries (shoulder, knee, calf, foot, back, neck!) exacerbated by slowly degenerating joints due to age. With Ian’s help I expect to be active for as long as possible. Ian is also able to refer for scans in a reasonably priced London clinic, which has helped my diagnoses and treatment. I recommend Ian to my friends, including one who had knee pain that Ian diagnosed as a hip problem. My friend was sceptical but a year later was told by a consultant, after imaging, that he needed a hip replacement!

Fantastic experience: I have just finished a course of physio with Ian for painful posterior ribs. Ian straight away ascertained that my rib joints were very stiff, with very little movement. Over 5 sessions, Ian has mobilised my ribs (quite painful at times!) to encourage movement. Even after the first session, the pain was reduced. I then had 4 further sessions over 4 weeks. I feel 100% better and am so relieved to finally be pain-free. Thank you Ian!

Fantastic experience: I first used ‘The Physio Room’ in 2019, before returning for a different injury in early 2023, and again numerous times in 2024, including to help me recover from a small fracture, and I have found Ian to be an excellent Physio, who is very professional, and who has strong communication skills, which puts you at ease. He explains the ‘homework’ stretches well, and he has sent links to illustrate how to do these properly, but is also more than happy to help me correct if I demonstrate in a session. 5/5, and thanks.

Fantastic experience: My 12-year-old son had pain in his shoulder from playing tennis. After months of resting etc. we decided we needed professional help. Ian was flawless in providing the help we needed. He identified lacking strength in the shoulder, and set up a personalised training schedule. After a few months, my son was much stronger and more flexible in the shoulder, and the pain had stopped. He is enjoying his tennis again!

Fantastic experience: Returned to see Ian with acute pain in my lower back two years after previous problem (long standing back problem that relapses periodically). The treatment was excellent. After jut four sessions I am standing upright, the pain has dramtically reduced and will go completely with the recommended exercise.

Fantastic experience: On my son's recommendation I attended the Physio Room for a problem with my back which has been satisfactorily resolved. I found Ian to be very professional and friendly and I would definitively go again if needed.

Fantastic experience: Came to Ian after fracturing my proximal humerus in several places and having been told by my consultant that I would never be able to raise my arm above my head again. My arm and shoulder movement at the time was fairly limited and I seemed to be getting nowhere with the physio offered by the NHS. From the outset Ian was very kind and understanding. Over the weeks he has managed with care and patience to get my shoulder moving into positions I never thought would be possible again. I experienced significant shoulder hitching after the injury and Ian has eliminated this completely which I am forever grateful for. I cannot recommend him highly enough. If I ever am unfortunate in the future to need a physiotherapist I won’t hesitate to go back to him. Thank you so much Ian.

Fantastic experience: I started coming to the Physio room back in January after the GP physio was unable to help. Ian was friendly and professional and extremely knowledgable. It took months to get the sensation back from a trapped nerve, but with his help in sessions and advice for stretches at home I am finally back to where I should be! Also very helpful when I came in with an additional injury which is now also much better and I can go back to my normal activities. Would reccomend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: Ian was a great find on Google. I am fairly new to Hertford and recently with very sore back pain caused by wrongly lifting a large box of grass cuttings at end of the summer, which wasn't mending itself, on the 1st visit he went straight to the cause, knew what happened and after a few visits my back was mended and I'm back in the saddle again. Ian gave me great advice how to look after myself properly from now on, knowing I'm not as young as I used to be . Fantastic experience: I came to The Physio Room as a keen cyclist with painful hips and knees, preventing me from getting out on the bike at all. With strengthening exercises, IT band massage and proper rest from cycling, I’m now pain free and starting to resume activities. Very happy!

Fantastic experience: I came to Ian with very painful arches and toes having been told I had plantar fasciitis... On the first appointment he knew that I'd been wrongly diagnosed and helped me relieve the pain. For years I'd had two curled toes, for as long as I could remember in fact. Ian managed to work at straightening these toes and they responded so well. I had been wearing flat shoes having not realised how high my arches were and they were being unsupported all this time. I can't thank you enough.

Fantastic experience: After an accident in September 2020, I went to Ian to help stretch my knee tendon after surgery. He has been instrumental in my recovery with his knowledge and patience.
