Fantastic experience: I went to Ladina with chronic neck and back pain, and I honestly couldn’t recommend her more highly. She is incredibly friendly, professional, and truly a stellar osteopath. From the very first session, she immediately understood what was going on and explained everything clearly, which made me feel completely at ease. I’ve been seeing Ladina regularly, and the treatments alleviated my pain almost straight away. Beyond that, she gave me practical, effective exercises and techniques to address the root cause of the issue rather than just the symptoms. Thanks to her care and expertise, my day-to-day health - and overall quality of life - has improved immensely. I’m so grateful for her care and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

Negative experience: Quite clearly, there have been a lot of happy customers at Oxford Osteopaths. However, in the interest of fairness, I thought it important to tell of MY experience. I went there in desperation caused by lower back pain that wasn't going away. It's a cosy location that reminded me of a massage venue. I was seen by Ladina, who was very nice, and very conscientious. The first visit, (of 45 mins), was mainly catching up on my medical history, and looking at me in various positions, to try to ascertain what the problem was......which Ladina felt '75%' confident in saying was a damaged disc, with maybe muscle spasms on top of this. There was only about 5 mins left for a back rub. I felt no better after this visit. On the second visit, (30 mins), a couple of days later, I was surprised by how long was spent explaining again what she believed the problem to be, (looking at the computer predominantly).......leaving only about 10 mins for any 'treatment'/another back rub. I then had to hurry out to let the next person in; and felt no better after this visit either. I had a further appt. booked for 4 days later. But, having felt NO improvement, and having spent the best part of my meagre monthly income, I decided to cancel this. Everything was amicable, and when I told Ladina that there was NO improvement, she said, "unfortunately I'm not a magician"! I had not gone there expecting a magician; but hearing the accounts of others who had visited osteopaths--(not from these reviews, which I hadn't read; but at a glance could see were all 5*); and what was said to me on the phone before my first visit, I don't think I was being over-optimistic in hoping for, let's say, a 25% improvement, or suchlike. Sadly, I experienced ZERO improvement. Kris. My Answer to Mike's Answer..... Mike, you clearly are trying to shift the onus more over to me/my disappointment/my ignorance of how it all works; without, no. 1, taking any responsibility on your practice's part for providing me with all of 15 mins 'treatment', from 75 mins paid for. But secondly, and more importantly, for the co. that you employ to answer calls to your own co., (who don't seem to want to make that clear; but instead answer as if from the clinic itself/with some knowledge), for confirming that I definitely WOULD feel at least some benefit from the first visit.....otherwise I would not have wasted my time, and money, coming. Added to which, my back condition, from what Ladina was saying, was not one of the 'more complex presentations'. I went there in good faith after being mis-informed. K.

Fantastic experience: As a filmmaker, having a severe post-traumatic frozen shoulder since April 2025 was incredibly frustrating. I couldn’t lift my left arm, which was a huge problem. I worked with Mike at Oxford Osteopaths until early December 2025, and thanks to his treatments, I regained almost all of my range of motion and got rid of the pain. Even though it was a tough process, with Mike's support, I was able to finish a mainly handheld project I thought I might have to abandon. Mike wasn’t just professional and effective; he was always there to guide me through the rehab process. He helped me stay motivated, especially when I wasn’t seeing big improvements at first. And most importantly, Mike knows when to stop—he’s honest and knows when his treatments have reached their limit, which really impressed me. I hope I don’t face anything like this again, but if I do, I know exactly where to go now. I highly recommend Mike and this clinic to anyone who needs top-notch care!

Fantastic experience: I was suffering from a stiff neck for 6 months which meant I had difficulty driving because I was unable to turn my head right. I initially visited a physiotherapist but after 4 visits we agreed I was making no progress. A friend recommended an osteopath and as Oxford Osteopaths was relatively close I made an appointment. Initially I made weekly visits, then fortnightly and now monthly. My neck flexibility is back to where it was before I incurred this injury and I can now drive without someone else looking right and left for me. I’m really thrilled my osteopath Mike Harding has resolved my neck issue because I had this fear I would be unable to drive again. I wholeheartedly recommend Mike who not only excellent in his work but very personable.

Fantastic experience: I had a real problem with my shoulder for over 3 months and was in agony most nights when I went to bed. Instead of just continuing to take pain killers, I went to see Mike Harding for Osteopathy. Within 2 sessions i started to feel improvements in my shoulder. I continued to go, and a few sessions later, my shoulder was back to normal and the pain has completely gone. I am so pleased with my treatment and I couldn't be happier to have my evenings back to normal. If you require an Osteopath, I would highly recommend Mike, as he is exceptional at what he does!

Fantastic experience: I came to see Ladina Berther at Central Oxford Osteopathy two months ago, after suffering from a flare-up of my chronic lower back pain condition (sciatica caused by the herniation of the L5S1 disc). I was experiencing a lot of discomfort in the lower back and right leg leg, my whole back was very tense and my sleep was also impacted. The weekly treatment at the clinic was great - very thoughtful and professional, and everything was explained clearly to me. Ladina carefully examined me and identified the cause of the pain, she also showed me some stretching exercises to perform at home to reduce the tensions in my body. After two months of treatment, I already feel much better, as well as experiencing greatly reduced discomfort and tension in the lower back and the leg. Fantastic experience: I am very happy with the treatment I have received from Mike at Oxford Osteopaths - I had quite a painful and tense neck when I first went and this has really improved to the point where it is now not bothering me any more. Fantastic experience: I went to Mike with chronic hip pain so bad that it affected my sleep every night, stopped me walking longer than 10 minutes at a time and was basically an unwelcome intruder in every aspect of my life. After 3 months of this constant pain, one session with Mike was enough to rid me of it entirely. He immediately sourced it back to my lower back and the nerve was eased. I've been able to resume all my previous activities (I'm very active) and consequently my mood has improved immeasurably. Fantastic experience: I decided to see an osteopath after suffering with upper back pain, and pain around my ribs that started in my spine. It was particularly bad when playing tennis. I saw Mike, and he did some amazing work, after the first session, it felt significantly better. The muscle was very restricted and he did a lot of work to losen it and adjust the area . I would 100% reccomend Mike, Oxford Osteopaths and Osteopathy to anybody with MSK issues. I'm so glad I went and had this sorted- quickly and easily. Fantastic experience: This was my first visit to Oxford Osteopaths. I picked this clinic based on location, reviews, and my intuition. What a find! As a first visit, I was astounded at what the therapist was able to achieve in one hour. My hour long treatment was composed of a 30 min massage and a 30 min somatic treatment that I did not know I sorely needed but proved to be exactly what I required. I have never had a 30 min massage prove so effective (and I was in a bad way). The therapist was conscientious, deeply knowledgeable, and made me feel comfortable. I am over the moon with the outcome of my visit!

Fantastic experience: I have had previous treatments over the last 4-5 years with Tamara each one being unique to my needs at the time. My treatment today was, well, quite amazing. Fantastic experience: I was having back pain for a couple a weeks before I decided to book an appointment somewhere to get it looked at. My husband went online and booked an appointment for the very next day. Fantastic experience: I’ve visited a number of different practitioners (osteo and chiropractic) over the years for a low back problem and Mike is the only one who has filled me with confidence and been able to bring relief. Fantastic experience: Mike at Oxford Osteopaths helped enormously when I developed excruciating back pain. He swiftly diagnosed the cause of the pain and was very reassuring that it would get better. The difference in mobility and reduction in pain after even the first session was astounding. He gave me stretches to do between sessions - and explained how to avoid exacerbating the problem. Mike is an excellent communicator and his calm manner and positive outlook coupled with professional knowledge and skill in treatment made what started out feeling like a crisis melt away into a minor inconvenience.

Fantastic experience: Having suffered with back pain for many years I went to see Mike at Oxford Osteopaths and that was simply the best thing I could have done. Mike is a fabulous osteopath, kind, patient, understanding and really helpful when I was suffering from putting my back out even though I didn't have an appointment, by giving advice over email. I would highly recommend Mike and his team (having had a great massage from Marion which was a huge help) and I have seen a few osteopaths. Mike really does care for his patients and their wellbeing and will reduce the frequency of appointments in accordance with how well you are doing. I'm happy to say I no longer need to see Mike thanks to his help. Even if you are unsure whether you need an osteopath I would highly recommend giving Mike a call as he will tell you honestly whether he can help.

And not only for the sort of short-term care you need after an injury… I developed costocondritis (inflammation of the ribcage cartilage) and a breathing pattern disorder on top of pre-existing, long-term problems with my neck & back in October. This was following months of dealing with cardiac and breathing issues caused by ‘Long Covid’ - an inflammatory post-viral process medical professionals are only just beginning to understand. I started to seek help in November in nothing short of sheer desperation after 6 long months of battling chronic pain & fatigue that doctors (and a host of other healthcare professionals) had been unable to help me either resolve or cope with. Having previously been an active, busy, driven person in a physically demanding job I loved, I was devastated by having been bed-bound for months on end and and deeply frustrated by not making any progress in recovery. When I got in touch with Oxford Osteopaths with an honest summary of my situation, including the fact that other practitioners had refused to treat me, Mike was quick to reply. I was grateful that he was both willing to try and had a realistic but hopeful outlook on what osteopathy might be able to do. I was seen within a couple of days and from those first exchanges it was immediately obvious that Mike has the sort of wealth of knowledge and experience to draw on that makes for thoughtful and expert care. As well as the treatment sessions themselves he gave me good advice for helping myself at home and a programme of exercises to follow every day which have certainly made a difference. This isn’t where I describe a miracle cure - you wouldn’t and shouldn’t believe me if I did - but I can truthfully say after a couple of months of regular treatment sessions that I am making positive steps in the right direction, with vastly reduced pain and anxiety, noticeably better breathing and sleep, greater freedom of movement. I feel a little bit better every time I attend and those little changes, persisting and accumulating over time, are enough to give me the hope I was so long without. For anyone dealing with chronic pain or similar “difficult” problems GPs can’t help with, awaiting physiotherapy from our wonderful but over-stretched NHS or suffering post-Covid, I cannot recommend Mike highly enough. Aside from being a skilful and intelligent practitioner who clearly knows his stuff inside out, he is also patient, generous with his kindness and adept at encouraging a positive outlook even when problems seem intractable. I was extremely apprehensive about attending a face-to-face appointment but was reassured by the all the measures put in place to protect staff and patients alike, including pre-treatment screening questionnaires, careful cleaning between patients, masks and PPE, sanitiser, staggered arrival times etc. The clinic is lovely - calm, quiet and clean - a proper retreat from the world. It is not an after-thought, (as it so often can be in healthcare,) that Oxford Osteopaths describe themselves as ‘#heretolisten’. I discovered them at a time when, like so many during the national coronavirus lockdowns, isolation and anxiety were causing physical tension that was wreaking havoc on my already fragile health. We often underestimate how vital it is to good health to have someone listen with compassion and it certainly made a difference to me to be listened to properly. This is a great strength of the Oxford Osteopaths practice and, in my experience, sets them apart. I have seen a number of practitioners over the course of two decades to help manage chronic pain, many of whom have been undoubtedly helpful, but none of them have done so with such a remarkable combination of skill and care.

Great phone service before the appointment, and sent all the necessary information and Covid forms. After the treatment I genuinely felt like a new person and a mass relief. I had Hannah who was very calming and knew exactly what she was doing. Fantastic experience: Mike was very helpful, friendly and highly skilled. He quickly identified an issue I'd had for many years with my cervicothoracic junction. It had limited mobility on the left side, which caused a cascade of adjustments on the upper left side and lower right side of my spine, leading to limited neck mobility and an uneven gait. By the time I got to Mike, there was no pain anymore since the tissues had basically settled into that position, and no other professional had been able to tell me exactly what the problem was. He was methodical, starting with releases to my thoracic spine, then proceeding to the lumbar, and finally to the cervical, over the course of two months. We made steady progress, and by the time he finished my treatment with releases to the key areas in the cervical spine and the CT junction that were bothering me, I had gained a lot of my mobility back and was feeling much better. The clinic was also very clean, with all the proper measures put into place, and tastefully decorated. I would recommend Mike in a heartbeat, especially with issues like mine where the underlying cause is subtle, and while nothing is massively wrong, all the small things add up to a lot of hurt. I am very grateful to him.

Fantastic experience: I have been a runner for many years, most recently due to pain in my back and hip I made an appointment with Mike. In two sessions he got me back on my feet. the pain was gone and I was able to start training again. If one day I have any problem again, it is with closed eyes that I would go back to see him. Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend Oxford Osteopaths. I was treated by the lovely Mike after suffering a major seizure in the summer. During my recovery period, I had several sessions over two months and noticed improvement immediately. Mike was always quick to get to the point of the pain and relieve my symptoms. During my treatments, he offered good advice as well as exercises to do afterwards. Communications and emails between appointments were also excellent. Fantastic experience: I've had some really bad back and shoulder issues over the last several years and I've seen many people in search of solution. Neurologists, traumatologists, physiotherapists - none could give me a firm grasp over my condition. I've been give antidepressants even to battle the bad moods a hurting back can give a person in their twenties. Mike however was absolutely helpful in determining the precise position of my 'trouble' spots and while I do not indulge myself in the notion that something that has suppressed me for years can go away in a few procedures I can clearly see a progress in my physique's condition. He was even more efficient in relieving those hurtful spots at least for several days after. It is left to you and me though to take that as a foundation to start caring and maintaining our musculoskeletal systems as a life full of pain is not fun at all. I would and have already recommended him to my friends and colleagues and I would only urge people to not postpone such procedures as these things don't get better over time. Fantastic experience: After suffering from an extremely painful and debilitating shoulder injury for eight months, I was finally driven to do something about. First session, Mike diagnosed an impingement. It took only three sessions plus some simple stretching exercises to sort it out. Result, completely pain free and now a return to normal function. Fantastic experience: I have an arthritic right hip which threw my posture out to such an extent that I was getting pain in my back and neck. This was interfering with my singing, which is very posture sensitive, and generally interfering with my life. Mike worked on improving the mobility of my hip and relieving thevback and neck pain thus improving my posture. My singing teacher is delighted and so am I.
