Fantastic experience: Gavin and Zoe are a fantastic, supportive team who are helping me recover after months of back pain and sciatica. They are based in Edinburgh near Haymarket and I am so glad I found them. Gavin is a very experienced Osteopath, which is clear from his knowledge of back issues and pain management. I felt immediately that I was in safe hands. He is calm and reassuring, and his manual therapy, coupled with helpful information, significantly reduced my pain after only a few sessions. Gavin also shares podcasts that complement the sessions, which I enjoyed listening to between appointments. Zoe is a Physiotherapist who is working in collaboration with Gavin. She is very approachable and addresses all my concerns with patience. Her manual therapy is excellent, and she has introduced rehabilitation exercises gradually with very clear guidance. The exercises are helping me build strength and confidence to support my long-term recovery. I also really appreciate how they have advised on my wider health issues, which makes the care feel genuinely personalised. I would confidently recommend them to anyone dealing with back pain and sciatica.

Fantastic experience: Caspar provided excellent professional service for my lower back pain

Fantastic experience: I visited two weeks ago for coccyx/butt pain when sitting, seeking some kind of structured stretching plan or very light physio exercises I could do to see improvements. I came away none the wiser really, having been advised to essentially avoid sitting which is obviously impossible. I expected more help given the high cost of £96 for an hour. Gavin was however understanding of my broader health problems (ME/CFS), for which I greatly appreciate. Edit: Gavin kindly offered a follow-up appointment which I took and was very helpful. I now have some actionable steps I can take to improve. Thank you Gavin.

Having suffered neck pain (whiplash injury) for almost 3 years and tried various other treatments I wish my "first port of call" had been Gavin an excellent Osteopath based at Edinburgh's West End! He is extremely welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly and the Clinic is very welcoming. He suggested I have a weekly treatments for 4 weeks. After just 1 treatment I experienced 50% improvement and am off my painkillers. Woohoo He gave me loads of advice and exercises to help me on my journey. Highly recommend his services.

Maelle offers her own, intentional, and effective approach. I felt in great personal care, and noticed perhaps even bigger somatic differences than I have with other cranio. Definitely worth investing in.

Having never seen an Osteopath or knowing very little about how an Osteopathy Clinic works I was really hopeful that my back pain and sciatica would be relieved. I have been a long sufferer of back pain and sciatica. So what to expect? I was welcomed, we discussed in detail my issues and then I received treatment and guidance. This involved pain relieving massage and then follow up exercises with video links that showed me what to do. I found my treatment so pain relieving and the follow up exercises have helped me. The clinic has all you need and the rooms are bright and comfortable. I have signed up to several more sessions with Caspar who is a very friendly and welcoming Osteopath. I would give it a go if you have back pain and want relief.

Fantastic experience: I developed sciatica and was in alot of pain. I called the clinic and had an appointment the following day. I saw Casper Giffard Tutt. He went through my history etc, he explained the possible timescales involved and the treatment plan. The plan was easy to follow and I saw Casper once a week, as I progressed and got better some of the exercises changed. He gave me alot of confidence going forward. Once I was much better we discussed me going back to the gym to help my recovery. He was very supportive and was there if I need any questions answer. Highly recommend Casper and the clinic.

Fantastic experience: I have been suffering from my lower back(disc bulge)L5 S1/sciatica for the last 12 years. I have seen many doctors, physios ,supposed to be called back specialists, done many massages got loads of different advises but none of them work until I got told I won't get back to normal and I have to learn to live with it . After a severe 6 weeks of pain which I couldn't stand up , walk , sleep or move I decided to go and AXC and I had the pleasure to meet Casper . My 1st appointment my pain was 8/10 . he took his time to listen to my story the did his diagnosis, straight away he knew what was my problem , gave me crucial advices with details and then rehab a program to follow . 2,3 days later sciatica was pretty much gone . I went to see him10 days later for a follow-up And the pain was 4/10 . He made some adjustments in my back and stretches. Gave more exercises for my rehab program . Walking out from the clinic I went straight for 1h30 walk with no pain , next day woke up with pretty much pain free . I'm truly grateful as now I can see some light at the end of the tunnel . Fantastic experience: I can’t rate this clinic and Casper highly enough. I had a significant back injury which resulted in sciatic pain and very limited movement. Casper has helped me get back on my feet and back doing the activities I enjoy. Casper doesn’t just focus on treatment but exercises and rehabilitation for the long term.

Fantastic experience: I have no doubt the team saved me from a very difficult and painful time Kaspar told me the gp needed to send me for an MRI scan due to the state of my back having had a military accident and no one in Northern Ireland could repair it and spinal injections for 35 years so he sent the gp an email stating the problem on the Wednesday morning and the gp had a letter for me to take to A&E at the Royal Infirmary Hospital Little France and I had an MRI at 4pm the results at 4am and told I would have the operation Thursday afternoon so didn't get home the operation took 6 hours and a week later I was home with my back and spine repaired and in great shape A year on and my back is a lot stronger and I have no pain My life has changed for the better thanks to Kaspar and Gavin at ActiveX Thank you guys

Fantastic experience: I saw a brilliant Osteopath, Casper (at their clinic in the West End of Edinburgh), for a few excellent osteopathy sessions which were incredibly helpful and provided so much relief. I have Complex PTSD, which comes with many emotional and physical chronic problems for me, including severe back pain and sciatica (to name just a couple!). I really rarely feel as comfortable as Casper made me feel which was such a welcome surprise. I found the massage aspect of the treatment extremely relaxing and beneficial because Casper made allowed me to feel so comfortable with it so that opened up a new avenue of recovery for me. I'll certainly be going back for more sessions as soon as I can. The treatment is definitely something to explore, and I would thoroughly recommend Casper (or any of the team - I'm sure they're all fabulous) whether you need a tune-up or just to keep fit and healthy for as long as possible, plus, the exercises (if you're lucky enough to get "homework!) were absolutely doable and explained very well - it's never too early (or late!) to start finding emotional/mental/physical relief so I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: After 30 years of nursing have a new lease of life and a new back and neck Active X clinic is based in the west end of Edinburgh and I met Gavin who is a highly experienced and knowledgeable Osteopath Gavin explained everything that was causing the pain and methodically worked on my neck and back He also gave me exercises to support his treatment What can I say but it’s just amazing!

Fantastic experience: I had lower back pain which I thought would ease off after a few days, which it did not, I had trouble bending and getting up from the sitting position. After two session with Gavin at Active X Clinics - Osteopath at the West End, Edinburgh I was able to stand up without pain and bend. Gavin gave me a series of exercises to continue with at home and gave me additional advice on how to maintain my back from further episodes. As a desk worker, Gavin also advised changing my workstation to a standing desk which was a game changer too. I would not hesitate to book an appointment again, the quicker you address the issues the quicker you can return to normal. I can't recommend Active X Clinics enough.

Fantastic experience: I am very pleased with my experience with Active X Clinics, I came with years of knee pain and Caspar quickly identified the issue and gave me exercises which helped a lot. The exercises were made to realistically fit into my schedule and were not too intense or overwhelming. I am now more active than I have ever been with little to no pain. Caspar also gave me very helpful advice while starting a new sport so I could practice safely and work with my body instead of against it. I would definitely recommand!

Fantastic experience: I had been suffering with sciatica type symptoms in early December and booked with Active X for an initial assessment. Caspar undertook the assessment asking questions about how the pain was and what things I could/couldn’t do. He undertook a series of movements on me to check mobility of hips and lower back and also massaged the lower back area. I was given a series of stretches to perform each day. I booked another 3 sessions with Caspar over a 6 week period and by the end of the last session, the pain had all but gone. The stretches are now part of a daily routine to hopefully ensure I don’t regress back to where I was in December. Would definitely recommend for anyone suffering with back pains/spasms/sciatica.

Fantastic experience: Contacted Active X Backs with severe lower back pain. I had been pretty much bed ridden for a couple of days. I got an appointment with Gavin very quickly and he located the area where the pain was and worked on it. He also identified that running on a hard surface and dancing on concrete (I'm 5 feet 5) had bruised my lower back. After treatment and a few days rest I was back out gardening and outdoor work. I reccomend Active X Clinics who helped me out when I was in terrible pain.

Fantastic experience: I came to active x for my neck tension that would often cause tension headaches. Before that I have tried a lot for about 1.5 years but not many things offered long term relief and I didn’t want to rely on pain killers anymore. Gavin was able to properly assess my body and based on that figure out why my tension could be caused and what could help it. The weekly massage really resolved most of my tension and even if I still have a couple of days of tension it is never as severe as it used to be, which means it is helping. It’s important to mention that Gavin also asks a lot of important questions because of course tension can often be related to stress and other psychological issues. It really helped me to talk to him about these things and link them to the tension, because I was able to avoid certain patterns or at least be aware of them and therefore keeping my tension and pain at a minimum. Before this I have never been to an osteopath so I had no expectations but I was positively surprised how quickly I felt improvement! I would recommend Active X to anyone that is tired of pain killers and wants help to resolve the root of the problem!

Mr Gavin kindly arranged the free tele consultation on the same day 730pm! He gave the most effective advice about how to release the sprains and spasm, and simple exercise on bed. L I had my initial consultation today after Keeping to wait for his availability! His knowledge and skills of manual treatment released me from not only pains but also anxiety.
