Fantastic experience: Had had a diagnosis of Bicep tendinitis in early January 2026. I had received laser treatment for a previous injury a year ago and had found it useful, so sought out Exeter Chiro & Physio as the nearest to me who could offer it. Laurence saw me for a few months; he was professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I am not ‘cured’ but appreciative of the good progress we have made; pain levels are much decreased for example. I intend continuing with the exercises and will return if I regress but that is not currently on my time line.. Fingers crossed.

Right from the start there was clear communication, careful listening, and a thorough assessment. The treatment has been carefully tailored to my specific problem and I feel like I am in safe hands. Fantastic experience: I had suffered the effects of a sciatica attack for 2 weeks before visiting Richard who very quickly confirmed the diagnosis and started treatment. I can't say that it was painless, however treatment on Monday my life considerably less painful by Wednesday and by my next treatment on Friday of the same week, I was making great progress. By following Richard's precise insturctions (controlled activity and stretching) I was discharged the following Monday. I am now looking at regular visits to 'service' my back to hopefully prevent further occurances. Highly recommended.

Finding Exeter Chiro and Physio, and specifically Jack, has been completely life changing. Jack was the very first person who took the time to conduct a truly in depth assessment and was able to give me a precise diagnosis for my issue. It was a massive relief just to finally understand what was wrong. The treatment that followed has been nothing short of remarkable. Within a month, my pain had improved to a degree I didn't think was possible. I can now move so much more freely and, most importantly, I haven't had a single flare up since starting my sessions. Fantastic experience: I`ve been having shock therapy on my left heal on and off for a few months now, going from a really painful to walk, to being able to start running again feels a fantastic outcome, still a bit more to do to get myself 100% again, but very happy with where I am against 6 months ago. When I went to them for help with my back I couldn't even touch my knees without severe pain, after a few sessions and home exercises I felt amazing. Fantastic experience: I injured my back two years ago and have had ongoing issues ever since, most recently a severe case of sciatic nerve pain for around 6 months prior to coming in. I'd tried a number of different treatments, lost weight and started sciatic nerve specific exercising, but nothing helped. A few weeks with Jack and there were noticeable differences and within 4 months I am now pain free and feeling stronger than I have in years. Would very much recommend!

Fantastic experience: Injured my back picking up a tractor battery and was left with very painful sciatica. After a couple of missteps, I found Exeter Health Plus and Richard who put me on a course of Spinal Decompression, a therapy I knew nothing about. It’s been brilliant, reducing the pain quickly and improving my mobility steadily over the course of several months. Definitely a good place to seek treatment.

Fantastic experience: I could not recommend the clinic more. Exeter Health Plus transformed my life. Professional,competent and very friendly team (shout out up to Richard Lawrence and Sophie). My journey started when I slipped my disk early this year. Through NHS, a private consultant and physiotheraphy, I was not achieving any results. In a lot of pain, unable to sit, I decided to do my own research. Found positive studies about spinal decompression and that's how I found Richard's clinic. After three weeks of treatment I dropped all painkillers (sixteen per day). The results were overwhelmingly positive. If you have back problems, this is THE place to go. Thank you much for the support to date!

Fantastic experience: Suffered from debilitating herniated disc for some time, and was recommended a spinal decompression therapy, which has been very successful, half way through and I am now back to work after 1 month of treatment and well on the way to being pain free.

Negative experience: I did not have a good experience and was not warned about excessive pain and exacerbation of original problem (sciatica) following treatment. In bad pain for two days following a treatment= not exactly great, especially as I had felt hopeful that the treatment could help. Wasn't going to leave a review, but then thought again- I don't want others to have the same experience and think that we need to be really, really careful who we see for our backs.

Fantastic experience: They have helped to sort my back out amazingly. I have suffered from back pain for most of my life and it had become intolerable. Using their decompression therapy they have got it to a state where i can live normally. I am deeply grateful. The price is reasonable as well - and they’re lovely people.

My back has been a menace and its frustrating when every place you go to its the same answer “we dont know”. But with Exeter Health Plus it was a different story. Fantastic experience: I went to Exeter Health Plus for an issue with my achilles tendon, likely caused by poorly fitting cycling shoes. Over the course of around 8 weeks, not only did they completely resolve my achilles problem, but also fixed a long-standing issue I had with the ball of my other foot! Very professional team, from the highly efficient reception staff to the clean and hygienic treatment rooms. Quality physiotherapists using laser and shockwave technology that fixed something I had totally given up hope of ever healing. Thank you!

Negative experience: I had a serious shoulder injury which resulted in me stopping work as a radiographer- at the time I came here for help, I was sure that my shoulder was unstable and subluxing (slightly out if joint but not fully dislocated). I asked if this was possible and was given a snappy reply which made me feel quite silly for thinking of such a diagnosis. My life became very hard for the following few years, and I struggled through the pain. I finally sought orthopaedic help (to be fair for the second time) and now find out my shoulder is indeed subluxing - is unstable and requires surgery for several pathologies. Do not come here- go to an orthopaedic consultant and have imaging done before seeking alternative treatment- they cant say you dont have a significant injury if you havent had imaging and to say otherwise is simply untrue. Be very very cautious. Simply want to stop others suffering what I have been through. You have my deepest sympathy if you too are suffering from pain and loss of movement and I hope you soon recover.

Fantastic experience: I went here with minor but persistent back pain. I was beginning to struggle with simple tasks like tying my shoe laces and getting out of the car. I put all this down to being in my 30s but thought I'd see if a chiropractor could help. Richard and Sara were amazing, after a couple of weeks the pain in my back was basically gone and I had a routine to maintain the work we'd done. Fantastic experience: Before i began seeing Richard, i experienced chronic neck and shoulder pains for most of my adult life. I was unable to pull my shoulders back and keep my head up thus causing me a lot of difficulties in my day to day life - headaches, persistently tense shoulder muscles etc. However, after two months of intensive therapy, i have begun to notice a real improvement in my posture and my general well-being. My headaches are less frequent then before seeing beginning intensive treatment, my shoulder muscles are less tense, and my daily life is largely free of the pain i experienced before therapy. Richard is very understanding and provides ample motivation to the patient to make the effort to correct their postural difficulties with various exercises. The customer service is excellent and Richard and Sara explain with great clarity the progress that treatment can bring and what the next steps are to maintain that progrees. My life has been transformed since beginning treatment. It has been one of the best decisions i have ever made and i would recommend anyone with postural problems to make an appointment.
